LIFE BEFORE WRESTLING

Candice Michelle had a reasonably healthy media career before being scouted by World Wrestling Entertainment. The former Women’s Champion appeared - minutely - in films such as Dodgeball, High Crimes and Diablo and has also dipped into television appearing in Monk, Eye Spy and was the host of the Dating Game. In 2004 though she participated in the first ever RAW Diva Search and despite not winning earned herself a contract with the company.

Outside of the ring Candice Michelle made headlines as the controversial GoDaddy.com girl. She also garnered more attention when she posed for Playboy in April of 2006 - an unveiling which happened live on Monday Night RAW. Candice Michelle first got into modelling at the age of sixteen where she won a competition in her hometown of Milwaukee. Candice studied Theatre Arts at Santa Monica College; it was during this array of studies that Candice adopted the surname Michelle creating her stage name of Candice Michelle.

Like so many who have passed through the WWE, Candice Michelle appeared in several bodybuilding magazines as well as car magazines such as Lowrider. 2006 wasn’t the first time Candice Michelle appeared in Playboy, in 2002 she was named Cyber Girl of the Week and later went on to work as a foot fetish model under the alias of Mackenzie Montgomery. Candice Michelle’s TV roles gradually got more raunchy as she appeared in Hotel Erotica; a show that many regard as soft-core pornography.

FINDING HOME

Candice Michelle made her WWE debut in 2004 as part of the RAW roster. The failed Diva Search applicant was billed as the RAW make-up artist and went on to compete in several T&A skits and segments; her first being in the line-up for the ‘Randy Orton Fashion Show’ on the November 29 edition of RAW.

Her time on RAW was short-lived as she was sent to SmackDown! on June 30 where she later officiated a bra and panties between newcomer Melina and long-time diva Torrie Wilson at the Great American Bash. A few months later Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson were traded to RAW, whilst Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler went to SmackDown! Candice Michelle cited that she was ‘too hot for Network TV’ hence her move to RAW.

Her arrival saw her and Torrie Wilson tangle up with the 2005 Diva Search winner Ashley Massaro. The former SmackDown! duo sought aid from Victoria - a former Women’s Champion - whom acted as the muscle to the stable later referred to as ‘Vince’s Devils’. The three-on-one handicap battle ended sharply when Trish Stratus returned as an ally to Ashley Massaro. Candice Michelle’s first title match came at Taboo Tuesday in a Fulfil Your Fantasy battle royal, she was eliminated by Ashley Massaro.

Candice Michelle continued to appear in matches and had another pay-per-view match at New Year’s Revolution - a bra and panties gauntlet which was won by the 2005 Diva Search winner Ashley Massaro. Candice Michelle though earned herself a second title shot shortly after winning a battle royal on RAW. She lost the match to Trish Stratus after some botched help from Torrie Wilson; as a result Candice slapped the blonde diva during the Unlimited part of the RAW broadcast.

It was in 2006 when Candice Michelle made her first appearance at Wrestlemania. Unfortunately for Candice she lost to Torrie Wilson, however Candice adopted the role as Vince McMahon’s momentary ‘sex slave’ at one point vying to become General Manager of RAW when the slot became vacant. On July 17 Candice Michelle turned as she officiated a tag match between Torrie Wilson and Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James and Victoria; the match saw Candice remove the illegal entrant Mickie James and then lure Victoria into a loss after being hit with a chick kick.

Candice Michelle then engaged in a minor feud with Lita where she picked up a win but lost the following week in the first round of the Women’s Championship tournament. On the November 27 edition of RAW Candice Michelle suffered a deviated septum courtesy of a stiff kick from Victoria. Whilst the injury was cited as genuine some argue otherwise. As a result of the injury Candice Michelle was missing for a lengthy period.

MAKING AN IMPACT

Candice returned in January scoring a pinfall over Victoria and Melina in tag competition (her partner was Mickie James). From there Candice Michelle got involved in a blog-war with Melina. Melina first claimed Candice Michelle stole her submission move and began berating her modelling appearances, Candice fought back telling Melina she’d be more than happy to meet her in the ring.

From there out Candice Michelle began an impressive score-sheet of Win-Losses over Melina and eventually captured her first Women’s Championship at Vengeance, thus making her the first Diva Search applicant to hold the gold. The reign lasted approximately four months where she was dethroned by Beth Phoenix at No Mercy.

On the 10/22/07 edition of RAW Candice Michelle looked to take back her Championship in a two out of three falls match with champion Beth Phoenix. Candice Michelle scored the first fall, and the fans quickly began to rally behind the challenger. However after falling from the top rope Candice Michelle lost the match. The fall resulted in a cracked clavicle, reports suggested Candice would be sidelined for upto eight weeks.

Eight weeks turned into a much larger time frame. Candice Michelle eventually returned to RAW early-2008 as the tag partner of Maria. The two dubbed themselves as the Playboy Bunnies and earned themselves a Wrestlemania match against Beth Phoenix and Melina. Unfortunately for Candice she re-injured her clavicle which prevented her from wrestling in the Wrestlemania match.

As of this moment Candice Michelle continues working towards a return to the WWE.
