RESPECT Magazine - Issue #8

One-half of ‘The Belle Saints’, Marti Belle, sat down to talk to RESPECT about her first love; professional wrestling. The WSU star, that recently lifted the WSU Tag Team Championships with ring veteran Jazz, tells us about her relationship with her new partner and fills us in on what is going on with injured partner Tina San Antonio.

Marti tells us about what it was the attracted her to the business, making the transition from valet to wrestler and her inspirations inside the squared circle. We also ask Marti about the highly lauded WSU Hall of Fame and see what she thinks of the honour that has been presented to a slew of well reputed faces in the business.

Sticking with WSU, we return to a Spirit Champion. Sassy Stephie fills in as ‘Guest Writer’ for Issue #8. The up-and-coming star, who has experience wrestling in both SHIMMER and WSU, talks to us about her recent title victory. On March 5, 2011, Stephie triumphed over Brittney Savage and in the process lifted the WSU Spirit Championship. The new title holder talks us through the match, and tells us of the interaction she had with former WWE Women’s Champion, Ivory, after her bout.

With all the hype surrounding the Hall of Fame, as presented by World Wrestling Entertainment, we look at one face that joins the honourable ranks. ‘The Original Diva’ earned her spot in the hallowed halls, making her one of only four women to be inducted. We look at Sunny’s career inside and outside of the WWE – which in recent years has seen stints in Ring of Honor amongst other places.

Jamilia Craft, a student of SHIMMER regular and ROH trainer Daizee Haze, gives us an insight into her budding career. Recently Craft was profiled by Pro Wrestling Illustrated as ‘One to Watch’, and we understand why. Jamilia tells us of her love of wrestling, lets us know about training at the ROH Academy and fills us in what she hopes to achieve in her career.

Elsewhere we take a look at what WWE Superstars means to Divas and assess how it will affect them should it be cancelled. We also discuss the possibility of ‘The Ninth Wonder of the World’ joining the WWE Hall of Fame ranks. RESPECT writer, Jesse Batson, also takes a look at the TNA Knockouts to explain why their revival might just be more exciting than their original run in 2007.
