RESPECT Magazine - Issue #7

RESPECT presented its very first ‘Collector’s Edition’ with Issue #7. Two separate covers were released to promote interviews with Pro Wrestling: EVE and Women’s Superstars Uncensored wrestlers. Cover #1 featured ‘The Lancashire Terrier’ April Davids and the image obsessed Sara-Marie Taylor, whilst Cover #2 presented WSU Spirit Champion Sassy Stephie.

April Davids, who shot onto the radar’s of wrestling fans recently, talks to us about upstart women’s promotion Pro Wrestling: EVE and its newly introduced ‘Catch-Division’. “It’s a very to our shores,” explained Davids when asked about the division, “I knew it was something I could easily get to grips with.” April did just then when, in the very first Catch-Division contest, she defeated Jenny Sjodin.

We also talk to Sara-Marie Taylor, one-half of ‘The Glamour Gym’. She talks about her partnership with Carmel Jacobs, the breakdown in communication between Pro Wrestling: EVE and former Glamour Gym leader Melanie Price and enlightens us on the perceptions women’s wrestlers often have to overcome.

Sassy Stephie talks to RESPECT ahead of WSU’s huge 4 Year Anniversary show. Stephie, who made her entry into the business initially as a ring announcer, tells us about working the Ohio wrestling scene. We also hear about working with TNA Knockout Madison Rayne (formerly Ashley Lane), wrestling for both SHIMMER and WSU, and hear about the unique wrestling match that Stephie faced in England.

As time ticks away for Wrestlemania, we look at ten matches that should’ve happened on the ‘Grandest Stage of ‘Em All’. Paul Sutemire theorises title clashes between Alundra Blayze and Aja Kong at Wrestlemania XII, a Team RAW versus Team SmackDown! affair at Wrestlemania XX and twenty-fifth anniversary match that really should have satisfied.

Elsewhere, Rhia O’Reilly fills in as the ‘Guest Writer’ for Issue #7. ‘Fightin Irish’ tells us about her first wrestling trip outside of the United Kingdom; wrestling in Paris, France. With International Women’s Day looming we profile an assortment of women’s wrestlers from around the world to show the best of the best. Jesse Batson, RESPECT writer, also looks at the TNA career of promising luchadora Sarah Stock.
