RESPECT Magazine - Issue #6

It’s February and we can’t help but feel a little emotional. Wrestling has always been known amongst its adoring supporters for getting even those for black husks for hearts to get a little blubbery. With support from members of the Captured-Beauty.com message boards, we countdown the ‘Top 10 Greatest Couples in Wrestling History’. Will it be a storybook conclusion or will our list produce something out of the ordinary?

We also re-print an interview originally published in ‘The Wrestling Press’. Pro Wrestling: EVE’s Alpha Female spoke to the magazine earlier this year about the women’s wrestling scene in Europe. Formerly known as Jazzy Bi, the monstrous powerhouse talks about her training regimen and how she feels when she steps into the wrestling ring.

RESPECT also celebrates ‘Black History Month’ by taking a close look at the evolution of black female wrestlers in professional wrestling. Eboni Fields talks about her wrestling inspirations ranging from former WWE Women’s Champion Jazz to the often intimidating Jacqueline Moore. Also hear about the story of one woman hid away in the back of cars to avoid confrontations with the Ku Klux Klan back in the 1960s.

Elsewhere we question whether wrestling is looking back to its edgy glory days throughout the nineties. With characters such as The Beautiful People and Maryse, we propose that ‘The Future is Trash TV’. You be the judge.

Marlon-Jamaal Jackson takes a look at wrestling fans’ relationship with models turned wrestlers. With focus on World Wrestling Entertainment, Jackson observes the relationship women such as Alicia Fox, Candice Michelle and Maria Kanellis have had with the WWE Universe and questions whether they can ever shed the skin of a model.

RESPECT also reviews WSU’s most recent iPPV instalment ‘Final Chapter’ which saw Angel Orsini and Mercedes Martinez clash in a unification ladder match.
