RESPECT Magazine - Issue #2
We head over to Canada to take a look upstart promotion nCw Femmes Fatales. The all-women’s organisation, led by a strong roster of veterans, sets out its mission objective of creating stars in its native land. Headed by familiar faces including Cheerleader Melissa, Portia Perez and LuFisto, the company is evidence that women’s wrestling is a global phenomenon.
RESPECT talks to the company’s promoter, Stephane Bruyere, about the organisation and asks what it intends to achieve. “Femmes Fatales goals are simple,” explains Bruyere, “we want to give better visibility to Quebec women wrestlers; and Quebec wrestling at the same time, whilst offering a good product.”
In time for Halloween, Paul Sutemire looks at wrestlings ‘Weird and Wonderful’. Famous grapplers and valets ranging from Luna Vachon to Sensational Sherri are profiled for a truly eerie insight into wrestling’s terrifying dark side. Ever heard of Mad Maxine? You’ll know all about the gigantic flash-in-the-pan after reading this article.
With NXT Season 3 in full swing, Adam Flood looks at what its contestants have to offer the World Wrestling Entertainment product. We also attempt a session of creativity ourselves as we create our very own NXT series with wrestlers who we think are truly deserving of the platform to breakout.
Elsewhere RESPECT talks to uprising wrestler Mia Yim. The wrestler, who catapulted onto the scene earlier this year, has quickly become a favourite amongst wrestling fans. We ask about her start in the business, what she hopes to achieve and what it’s like in the locker room as she prepares for shows.
